It’s Japanese style cafe with a Chinese’s meanings name. The restaurant full of art details and nice drawings of the menu. We’ve ordered four sets. All of them are good taste and the drinks are half price with the set. The strawberry drink is delicious, while the vegetable cake has no flavor.

#toast 471 — poach was on my list to go to after seeing a picture of their cinnamon French toast. However when I actually went I discovered something else: teriyaki chicken toast. I try to make it a task of mine to try out roasts that I haven’t tried before and when I saw chicken on the menu, I knew I had to get it. Poach’s menu is mostly Japanese based with a bit of western elements + Hong Kong influences through ingredient availability. Their portions are quite generous in my opinion and the set meals tend to be of good value. Their sourdough is made in house, fresh— had to really complement their bread because it was soft with a slight chew and a little grainy. A great flavor that isn’t too strong of rye and other sourdoughs in Hong Kong. Follow @nomkakaii on Instagram for more toast travels!

Lovely location (rooftop with outdoor seating). Eel was good, but the meat in the udon dish I got was a little dry and tough. Burger patties were decent but nothing special. Appreciated the free water though. I think the way their menu was designed was very confusing (+ the lack of English translations on some dishes made the ordering process even more complicated) and I feel like if it had been even just a tad easier to order, we would have been able to get way better-tasting food. Such a shame, but altogether still a decent dining experience.

Mong Kok|Poach Introducing this rooftop, unique and affordable Japanese style restaurant within the most popular part of HK - Mong Kok! Being famous for their Japanese style Ichijusansai and pancakes, I got to try them! For their ichijusansai, it includes a hot bonito tea soup and three dishes - daily special side dish, sous vide egg and a main. For the main dish, you could choose from six options. They have a unique way to eat this combo, I will have more details about that in the video! It also comes with wolf berry soy sauce rice, which has quite soy sauce flavour. My sort of comfort food when it was with the bonito tea soup. And last but not least, there is a hot hojicha included as well. Main dish - Grilled Cheese Burger Steak Really loved how much sauce and cheese they had on top of the steak. The steak was also thick. I personally think it brings out the contrast when consumed with plain yet flavourful rice. Main dish - Okanomiyaki-style Grilled Chicken Also loved how much sauce they had on top of the chicken. One thing I really loved about this main dish was that it had a slice of pancakes at the bottom, enhancing the combination of savoury and sweetness! Drinks - Earl Grey Cocoa Never tried the combination of earl grey and coco, it definitely surprised me. With the earl grey flavour being strong, the coco also stood out. It is on the sweeter side of the spectrum. If you do order it with the Ichijusansai, it is half price! Light Snack - Chicken Cartilage Dumplings Crispy skin with soft stuffings! Also with drizzles of mayonnaise sauce on top, its definitely a great snack to enhance your appetite! They have indoor and outdoor seatings, it is a perfect spot to hang with friends and have a chill time! Rooftop, 618 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok $220 HKD included 10% service charge

好靚好好食嘅local日餐店 This was an unexpected gem that we stumbled upon, the outdoor rooftop seating area was GORGEOUS (and I bet it's amazing at night.) The fact that it's in the middle of Mong Kok yet I don't find the outdoor area noisy is very cool. Servers were friendly. The eel combo is a must-order if you love eel, and their Earl grey hot Choco is very delicious.

The mochi pancakes here are delicious. They also have outdoor seating where you can eat with your dog

All the staff were so friendly and set a great atmosphere at this restaurant. Love the fact that it is also pet friendly, and the staffs were so kind to my doggy! Food is delicious and special too – highly recommend!!

This place is such a great find! The outdoor seating area is huge and really comfortable - perfect for a chill meal without feeling crowded. We ordered a few dishes and everything was good. The sourdough toast with smoked salmon was awesome - the bread had that nice tangy flavor and the smoked salmon was lightly seared. The mashed potatoes were underneath the salmon and it was creamy and filling . The eel rice bento was solid - the eel was really tender with just the right amount of sauce, and it all came together really well. You can customise the bento with other mains instead of eel. The real star was the tiramisu, the coffee flavor was just right, not too boozy, and the texture was spot-on. This spot has great vibes and a lovely outdoor space, definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
